You can do a whole unit study about spiders with this book. There are pictures of many different spiders and the names of each are listed in the back of the book. You can study habitats, life cycles, and so much more. This book is really a great jumping board for a unit study in spiders. Great for all ages. Even beyond the 2nd grade that the book is geared to. Some of the spiders illustrated include American House Spider, Black Widow, Burrowing Wolf Spider, Heather Spider, Cave Spider, Marbled Spider, Barn Spider, Black and Yellow Garden Spider, Jumping Spider, Orb Weaver, Red Leg Tarantula and so many more. Look at all the different regions you can study just from looking up the spider that lives in that region. Geography, Science, Math, English, and so much more from one little reader.
The illustrations are wonderful and the story line is great. Children of all ages will love this book. This is from my own personal library. I use to home school and my children loved books. You can teach alot from a simple children's book. Great for your home school library.
