You can do a whole unit study about snakes with this book. There are pictures of many different snakes the names of each are listed in the back of the book. You can study habitats, life cycles, and so much more. This book is really a great jumping board for a unit study in snakes. Great for all ages. Even beyond the 2nd grade that the book is geared to. Some of the snakes illustrated include Red Diamond Rattlesnake, Eastern Garter Snake, Indian Cobras, Hognose Snake, Mountain Kingsnake, Banded Sea Krait, Coral Snake, Cottonmouth, Emerald Tree Boa, Smooth Green Snake, Pit Viper and so many more. Look at all the different regions you can study just from looking up the snake that lives in that region. Geography, Science, Math, English, and so much more from one little reader.
The illustrations are wonderful and the story line is great. Children of all ages will love this book. This is from my own personal library. I use to home school and my children loved books. You can teach alot from a simple children's book. Great for your home school library.
